Executive Committee of Legal Metrology

The Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining held the fifth meeting of the Executive Committee for Legal Metrology of the Arab Metrology Initiative (ARAMET) on Monday, January 20, 2025, via videoconference, under the chairmanship of the Republic of Tunisia.

The meeting was attended by committee members representing the following Arab countries: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Tunisia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Sudan, the State of Palestine, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The meeting reviewed the measures taken to follow up on the implementation of the recommendations of the Committee's previous meeting. In addition, the chairs of the technical committees presented reports on the outcomes of the legal metrology technical committee meetings held during the last quarter of 2024

The Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining held the fourth meeting of the Executive Committee for Legal Metrology of the Arab Metrology Initiative (ARAMET) on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, via videoconference.

The meeting was attended by committee members representing the following Arab countries: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Tunisia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Sudan, and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The meeting reviewed the measures taken by the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining and the member states regarding the implementation of the recommendations issued by the Committee’s previous (third) meeting. The meeting also reviewed and discussed ARAMET’s Legal Metrology Work Plan for the years 2024–2028, which includes capacity building for Arab professionals in the field of legal metrology, strengthening cooperation with regional and international organizations, and working toward the harmonization of legislation and technical procedures among member states

The Executive Committee for Legal Metrology of the Arab Metrology Initiative (ARAMET) held its second meeting via videoconference on September 28, 2022, as part of the activities of the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining, affiliated with the League of Arab States.

The meeting was attended by members of the Executive Committee, chairs of the legal metrology technical committees, and representatives of the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining.

The meeting discussed the completion of the membership and secretariat appointments for the specialized technical committees, as well as the follow-up on the recommendations issued by the Committee during the ninth General Assembly of the Initiative. The meeting also reviewed the proposed introductory brochure for the Initiative, prepared by the Committee on Publication and Metrology Culture Awareness. In addition, the meeting discussed preparations for the upcoming workshop on the digital transformation of metrology, scheduled to be organized by the Initiative in early October, with the participation of ARAMET member states and facilitated by the National Institute of Standards in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
