Second Meeting of the Mass and Weighing Instruments Committee

The Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization (AIDSM) held the 34th meeting of the Arab countries’ focal points in the Codex Alimentarius Commission via videoconference on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the following countries: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Tunisia, the Syrian Arab Republic, the Republic of Iraq, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Palestine, the State of Kuwait, the State of Libya, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Republic of Yemen, and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Representatives also included the Global Society for Food Regulation (GFoRSS) and the Gulf Cooperation Council Standardization Organization (GSO).

The meeting focused on discussing the establishment of working groups related to upcoming Codex committees, such as the Committee on Pesticides (CCPR), the Committee on Contaminants in Food (CCCF), the Committee on Food Hygiene (CCFH), and the Committee on General Principles (CCGP). Discussions also included proposals for agenda items of regional interest, in preparation for the twelfth session of the Codex Regional Committee for the Near East (CCNE12).
