1. Strengthening relations between national metrology institutes and official bodies working in the field of metrology in member states and raising the level of cooperation between them.
2. Unifying the positions of member states on issues of common interest in relevant regional and international forums and meetings.
   Maximizing the region’s available resources in the field of national metrology standards and legal metrology, and providing a database of these capabilities for member states to utilize.
3. Organizing intercomparisons at the regional and international levels.
4. Developing relations between the group and regional and international organizations to exchange expertise.
5. Achieving mutual recognition among member states in the field of national metrology standards and calibration certificates, and achieving mutual recognition between the group and other groups.
6. Developing calibration procedures and testing methods in member states in line with international requirements and practices, contributing to achieving international recognition of national metrology standards in member states.
7. Developing unified guides, recommendations, and procedures for use by member states in the fields of legal, scientific, and industrial metrology.
